PS: I would also suggest that we proposed changing the phrase 'Steering Committee' with 'Executive Group' in the following passage from ARTICLE V.  so that only the 3 Executive Group members need to receive and count ballots! 

ARTICLE V.– ADOPTION AND AMENDMENTS, B. Proposal and Approval of Amendments

d] Ballots shall be returned by section members by email sent to each member of the current SPRISTAD Steering Committee by the stated election date. [e] Ballots shall be tallied separately by each member of the current Steering Committee.

Here (attached) is the proposed amendment to SPRISTAD ByLaws for presentation at Saturday's annual business meeting. This amendment simply codifies the de facto arrange of having an 'Executive Group' in order to conduct day-to-day business.

The ByLaws currently provide that "Amendments to these By-Laws may be proposed (i) by a majority of the SPRISTAD Steering Committee …" and "A ballot shall be distributed by email to all members by the SPRISTAD Chair within 30 days of receipt of any such proposal, with appropriate explanatory material."

I think we can still bring it to the meeting for an informal vote and then circulate it on the list serve after the conference.
