Dear colleagues,

a couple of weeks ago, I posted the link to an online-survey to collect names and research interests/activities from participants of this e-forum (see mail below).

We, the CaFTR steering group, would like to make this list of researchers available to the e-forum to facilitate exchange. If you would like to be on this list and have not yet filled out the survey, you may do so following this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Y8J5JNZ

I would like to close the survey at the end of December and circulate the list at the beginning of 2015.

For those of you who participated in the first wave of the survey, please let me know  if you are NOT happy to make the information about your research interests/activities available online. You may contact me back-channel (katharina.weitkamp@medicalschool-hamburg.de) till the end of December. In that case I will delete your information from the list.

Best wishes

Katharina

Dear colleagues,

My name is Katharina Weitkamp from the Medical School Hamburg in Germany and I am part oft he CaFTR steering committee. Currently, I am working in a study on the effectiveness of psychoanalytical youth psychotherapy. At the moment I am carrying out an interview study on youth therapy expectations.

Jochen Schweitzer posted the question of a landscape map of this virtual group a “who is who and researches on what”. A possible start for this map might be the results of an online survey that the CaFTR steering group carried out at the beginning of the year via the former e-group. 74 researchers participated and the results were presented at the SPR meeting in Copenhagen this June. Please find attached the presentation to give you an idea of the research areas.

It is possible to use this online survey to extend the “who is who” and those who would like to add their information will find the survey following this link:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Y8J5JNZ

If you fill in the survey, please note the we would like to potentially share your name, institution, mail-address, and research area with this e-discussion group to facilitate getting in contact. We did not plan to share the information in the beginning, so that the first wave of survey participants was not asked for this permission to share their data. We might contact them back-channel to get their consent being added to this “landscape list”.

I hope this could be a start to get a clearer picture of the child and family therapy research landscape,

Katharina Weitkamp

Betreff: AW: Welcome to the CaFTR e-discussion group!

Dear Colleagues:

I am happy to join the congratulations to Nick, and to be in this virtual group. I am Jochen Schweitzer from the University of Heidelberg in Germany.

To briefly introduce myself:  my focus is on systemic couple and family therapy. At present Christina Hunger (who is also a member of this e-group) and I start an rct study to compare Systemic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for socially anxious people. With colleagues from my group, I am involved also involved in three other projects: (1) (with Ede Nagy)  A  field experiment of “Systemic family oriented psychiatric treatment for people with an intellectual disability” (2) (with Corina Aguilar Raab and Christina Hunger-Schoppe) The use of two “systems evaluation questionaires” (EVOS and EXIS) in change process studies (3) (with Rüdiger Retzlaff and Kirsten von Sydow):  we continuously look for new outcome studies on the efficacy and effectiveness of systemic therapy with various clinical diagnoses.

I wonder if we can create some form of a “who is who and who researches on what” landscape map, that would help us identify potential “best partners” for a given idea to discuss. However I have no experience how to do this.

Best wishes to all of You, Jochen Schweitzer
